The SMS Santini women’s Aquazero kit is for those wishing to be comfortable, warm, stylish and “water proof” on the bike this winter. These garments are for serious riding and the bib longs have the iconic smooth surfaced T-Gel chamois which will not pack down on long rides This kit includes the : Santini Aquazero bib longs, Aquazero Long sleeved winter jersey, Aquazero cap/beanie. All these are made from thermal Italian Sitip Aquazero fabric with a soft brushed fleece inner surface. This fabric looks and feels like normal woven thermal fabrics, is wicking and very comfortable next to the skin. In comparison to the well-known Super Roubaix thermal fabric we see it as marginally thinner and slightly more wind resistant. It looks acts and wears like normal winter riding gear - however it is startling to see that water just runs off it! This range has very generous amounts of reflective material, particularly incorporated into the seams of the jersey – enough to increase visibility of night time riders. Water proof! It is ISO rated for 60 minutes water resistant. From our test a cup of water placed in the middle of the jersey will not go through (not a drop after more than 2 hours). However water under any pressure will penetrate the weave and the seams. What this means when riding – drizzle and light rain will roll off. Heavier rain will cause increasing damp spots But as water retention of the fabric is very low even in heavy rain you will be warmer, drier, a kilo or so lighter, and less drippy than anyone else on the road … or in the café or club house afterwards. In our view this is high performance winter riding gear with extra benefits. We are riding in it!
